German cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has introduced a mobile service called Mobile Phone that now allows the company to offer quadruple-play bundles. The new mobile service utilizes the network of mobile provider O2 Germany, which is a subsidiary of Spanish telecoms company Telefonica. Mobile services currently are only available for subscribers to KDG's Kabel Internet & Phone package. Customers get free calls to KDG telephony subscribers and other Mobile Phone subscribers, while calls to other German fixed and mobile networks are priced at EUR0.15 (USD0.21) per minute. Every cable subscriber can order up to five SIM cards, which can be activated for EUR9.99 each.
