Jordan telecom plans 3G

08 Feb. 2012

Umniah will launch 3G services by September, the Jordan Times reported.

The announcement came from Umniah’s CEO Ihab Hinnawi.

The Bahrain-backed cellco paid JOD50 million fee for its concession earlier this year, while its parent Batelco predicted it could be ready to offer 3G commercially in the first half of the year.

The launch will make Umniah the third of Jordan’s wireless operators to enter the country’s rapidly growing 3G market.
